We have been advising clients for over forty years, since 1968 when founding partner Michael Fitzsimons took over the practice of George Colley on his being appointed a Government Minister. Michael built the practice steadily as Michael Fitzsimons & Co, and gained prominence, particularly representing a number of insurance companies in defence litigation.
Throughout the 1980s, the practice developed its commercial and property reputation, practicing as Fitzsimons Smyth & Company, with Noel Smyth and later, as Fitzsimons Briger & Company, when it was affiliated to the international law firm, Briger & Company.
John Redmond joined it in 1980 and became a partner in 1984 when the firm began to practice as Fitzsimons Briger & Company. In 1995 the firm became known as Fitzsimons Redmond.
We have always focused on both personal and commercial clients being particularly recognised in the specialist area of franchising and we are well regarded in the commercial property sector. Having first gained prominence in personal injury defence work, the firm also enjoys a strong reputation representing claimants in personal injuries, litigation, judicial review and fair procedure cases.
Michael’s son, Michael David, has recently joined the practice as a partner and trade mark attorney.
